Joint 77 Slams Made in Ghana Over Carter Efe-Stonebwoy Disrespect Saga

Ghanaian musician Joint 77 has joined the growing list of voices reacting to the controversy involving Nigerian streamer Carter Efe and Ghanaian dancehall artiste Stonebwoy.

Carter Efe, who has been in Ghana for a series of livestreams, came under heavy criticism after a video surfaced where he was seen comparing himself to Stonebwoy and making remarks considered disrespectful towards the dancehall musician.

The situation worsened after reports suggested that Ghanaian streamer Made in Ghana was present during the livestream and did not intervene while the comments were being made. Carter Efe also reportedly claimed that some of his remarks were influenced by Made in Ghana.

The incident has sparked widespread debate on social media, with many Ghanaians calling out Made in Ghana for allowing a foreign creator to disrespect a Ghanaian artiste on home soil.

Adding his voice to the issue, Joint 77 did not hold back his disappointment. In a video shared on X and sighted by GhanaWeb on November 4, 2026, the musician condemned Made in Ghana and other Ghanaian content creators who make it a habit of disrespecting local artistes.

According to Joint 77, it is this attitude of Ghanaians constantly belittling their own stars that gives outsiders the confidence to do the same.

He questioned the sense behind Ghanaian comedians and creators who invite foreign creators into the country only for them to mock Ghanaian musicians.

Joint 77 further argued that the same level of attention and respect Ghanaians show to Nigerian artistes is not reciprocated in Nigeria. He recalled his experience of traveling to Nigeria with one of Ghana’s biggest artistes and how they were treated, stressing that Nigerians are united by language and culture.

He warned that those who continue to disrespect Ghanaian musicians will one day face similar treatment and urged Ghanaians to stop undermining their own.

The Carter Efe-Stonebwoy incident continues to generate reactions, with Shatta Wale earlier defending Made in Ghana and calling for unity in the entertainment industry.
