Samini – Oldman’s Radio
Samini runs Oldman’s Radio and the title is the wisdom. Track 12. Untamed. 2018. Samini delivers a cut built on nostalgia, elder counsel, and High Grade reflection.
Oldman’s Radio is Samini in griot mode. The title is the frequency. No static here. This is Samini tuning into ancestral channels with reggae reception. The track holds one directive throughout: remembrance. The curation leans on vintage highlife, on roots reggae, on analog warmth. The delivery is wise with weight. Samini enters with vocals that reminisce and lyrics that teach. No trends, no noise. Just Ghanaian reggae with legacy receipts. The production carries horns that age well with basslines that archive. Rhythm seasoned. Tempo reflective. It sounds like transistor hum, like 2018 heritage, like Oldman’s Radio because nothing was disposable. This is not new wave. It’s old truth.
The record positions itself as the transmission. Samini isn’t forgetting. He’s honoring. The solo weight matters. This is artist to ancestor, track 12 offering. The energy shifts from hunger to heritage. The tone is nostalgic but necessary. Verse remembers, hook preserves.
If you want Samini with depth, no gimmicks, and Oldman’s Radio energy on record, Oldman’s Radio delivers. It’s built for quiet evenings, for elder playlists, for when you need track 12 to feel like counsel.
In 2018, Samini used Oldman’s Radio to prove albums need memory. The project works because every catalogue needs a record that says it was wisdom first. The title is the station. Samini provides the signal. One track, one lesson: track 12 belongs to the elders.
